    Piemonte region

The Piedmont region is situated in north-western Italy and is surrounded on three sides by the Alps. It's the largest region in the country (after Sicily) and also one of the wealthiest and has the best that Italy has to offer: spectacular views of snow-covered mountains, vineyard-covered hilltops, rivers and lakes. Its elegant capital city, Turin, is endowed with magnificent outdoor plazas and fascinating museums. There are enchanting villages dating back to
medieval times and bustling ski resorts. It's here that you'll find the finest wines and the very best of Italian fare.
Many have compared Piedmont to Tuscany in the south, but despite the resemblance, there's no mistaking its northern character, with its Alpine views and the obvious influences of neighboring France and Switzerland.

The town of Sestriere is situated on a sun-drenched plateau in the northern Italian Alps, at an altitude of 2,000 meters, 17 kilometers from the French border. It's a prestigious ski resort and part of the "Milky Way" with its 400 kilometers of ski slopes. It has many hotels, fashionable stores and coffee shops.
Activities in town: walking trails, cycling routes, a sports center and a cable-car.
Activities close by: a rope park,horse-riding, rafting and kayaking.
